Sean Payton wasting talent
Why is Sean Payton not using Brandon Coleman more ,with Colston having the dropsies this season he played ONE snap against the Redskins and had one catch and Cj spiller only 16 why aren't we using them , more so Coleman because I feel like he's an advantage just off his size he's 6'6-6'5 that could draw a double team right there & if I'm not mistaken he has caught all his passes thrown to him for the most part just no real opportunity . Why keep him on the 53 to not use him couldn't play any worse than Colston

Re: Sean Payton wasting talent
Brees would be the one you should be angry at. Payton doesn't throw it.

I blame Jimmy and Reggie!

Re: Sean Payton wasting talent
Coleman has had his share of the drops...

The more REPS you get the better you get. Just throw Coleman the damn ball.

Re: Sean Payton wasting talent
He's bigger faster version of Colston I don't understand is he in Payton's "Dog House"
|
Re: Sean Payton wasting talent
I think Payton does not want to be a underdog like you see many 10-6 teams. He expects to be dominant or will make things difficult. All he's doing is screwing over Brees.

Re: Sean Payton wasting talent
Brees will throw to his favorites on the field. It's all about familiarity. Brees strength is the middle of the field and that's where the worst receiver is.
Now I'm waiting for the Colston apologists to come on here. |

Re: Sean Payton wasting talent
Asking for Colston apologists so here I am.
I have always been a fan of stats over loosely grounded opinions. So I had to find some stats on all these drops by Colston. Going back to the *****ing from some people here he must be dropping at least 5 passes per game. So what is the reality? Colston is credited 2 drops so far this season. Tied for team most with Watson, Cooks and Austin Johnson. When you look at drops compared to times targeted he is slightly ahead of Watson with 4.2% to Watson's 3.5%. Neither player is doing a horrible job. So there you have it. This is s similar to the "Fire Strief" cries early this season when it was actually Kelmente stinking it up on the inside. Or hating on Harper years past. Sure you don't need to like every player on the team but dislike them for the right reasons not some made up stuff. Dropped Passes: 2015 NFL Season |
Re: Sean Payton wasting talent
I would say there isn't anyone on the field Drew has total confidence throwing it to anyway anymore. Colston would be top of his list second to history.
That is of course when the receivers actually get separation and Drew can step up and throw it in the first place. |
Re: Sean Payton wasting talent
Coleman looks to be making the most of his chances lately after a tough first few games. as a starter? hmmmmm still a bit nervous but at this point what the heck get him some more playing and short leash

Brees misses Jimmy

Re: Sean Payton wasting talent
Payton has a plan for Coleman. It's just a different plan than when we left training camp. As long as Coleman catches the passes thrown at him then Payton will increase his snaps.
|
Re: Sean Payton wasting talent
It's obvious Brees isn't comfortable with him. If he was he would be out there.
|
Re: Sean Payton wasting talent
When I say Colston drops to many passes it's more of him dropping passes period is not of the norm but he has been dropping passes as of late for whatever reason. Even with the miscommunication with Bree's at times its just not something I want to get use to with him getting older. Coleman doesn't have to replace Colston but he has definitely earned or at least deserves some more playing time.

Re: Sean Payton wasting talent
How is that obvious from playing ONE offensive snap please explain and he caught the pass on that play. Drew DOES NOT decide who comes in what formation that's a Coaches choice. That statement would hold some weight if He played 15-20 snaps a game but he doesn't more like 1-5 and that might be generous

Being tall doesn't make you a great WR.
