That sh!t was so dumb. Why bother with the press conference at 11:30 to say he is ABSOLUTELY still on the staff to just come back a few hours later and say he was fired? The games coachs play are just humorous.

Obviously, the pending firing was leaked but why not just post pone your normal presser and then have one to announce his termination instead of wasting time and telling lies? Just don't get it.

He was most likely peezed that someone had leaked the story and they already had the 11 am one scheduled. By now we should all know that any chance Payton gets to jerk with the media, he's going to take it.

Oh he's gotten close a few times in the last couple years. Didn't he go after a reporter for asking a question about a rumor of him leaving and then give him a "piss off" kind of look? Thought he did
