New Orleans Saints cornerback Brandon Browner caught the ire of more than just fans Sunday. He also went face-to-face with defensive coordinator Dennis Allen in a brief exchange caught on television after the Carolina Panthers scored a touchdown with Browner in coverage in the third quarter.

That was part of a day in which Browner allowed at least two touchdowns in coverage and committed three penalties in the Saints' 41-38 loss. He appeared to get beat on at least two other plays on which Cam Newton overthrew his receiver.

Browner, with 21 penalties (19 accepted, two declined), is the most penalized player in the league.

A benching Sunday could have been possible were it not for an injury to Delvin Breaux (leg) and Damian Swann's inactive status (concussion).

I don't get it. Looking over his past years, he was flagged 16 times in 2011, 7 times in 2012, 5 times in 2013 and 15 times in 2014. This year he's at 19 and counting. Is he just slowing down and over compensating or is there a more systemic problem with him not really knowing his position within the rr de(sorta)fense and he's overcompensating for that instead?

Yea, he obviously doesn't have a problem holding on to people so he shouldn't have an issue with the cold there.

Demotion to special teams only, at best. I wouldn't cut him, he'd get picked up by the eventual Super Bowl champions and then would have three straight rings.......he's not worthy.

Saw a couple of mind blowing stats on our current D ...

We lead the league in total yards allowed (425.20).
We have allowed 35 TD's (the NFL record of all time is 40).
Opponent's passer rating avg 116.6 (the mark for passer rating is 110.9 held by the 2008 Detroit Lions (0-16).

This is beyond horrifying.

He's really on the Falcon's roster but Payton keeps fielding him. Send him back to the ATL with a thank you note.

He should have been benched a long time ago, it amazes me that he hasn't been. Who cares if no one can replace him, at this point it might be more effective to not even field a player on that side of the field...

Think about this. If he has been good until he came here could it be the atmosphere in the organization?
