New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram placed on IR
1 Attachment(s)
New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram has been placed on injured reserve.
Ingram reportedly injured his shoulder, and was not present during the portion of practice open to the media on Wednesday. He was officially placed on IR Wednesday afternoon. Ingram first appeared on the injury report with a shoulder injury following the Week 10 loss to the Redskins. He left that game prior to halftime to go to the locker room, but returned to finish the game. He was limited that week in practice, but never missed practice or a game. http://image.nola.com/home/nola-medi...760-mmmain.jpg read more Did I miss something??? |
Re: Ingram to IR?
It's official. Some sort of shoulder injury. Austin Johnson promoted to active roster.

Re: Ingram to IR?
Well there goes my fantasy team.... Most consistent player I had and I'm in first place.
Guess it's time to see what spiller can do. Really hope Greyson gets some playing time now that the season is over. |

Re: Ingram to IR?
Get healthy, next year we are kicking ass and taking names!
|
Re: Ingram to IR?
NeauxFW..... We finally get to see Spiller full time?
|
Re: Ingram to IR?
Well we won't be running on first and ten at least.
|
Re: Ingram to IR?
Ingram was only Saints back with good pass protection. Without Ingram, Brees is gonna get killed. O-line is garbage anyways...
Lets just hope Brees survives final 4 games of the season. |

I bet the saints will force feed Spiller. I am hedging my bet with Hightower having the best showing of all the backs, Yet Spiller will still get forced feed the ball.
|
Re: Ingram to IR?
I bet Hightower sees the field more than spiller .... The guy has rarely been seen on the field I don't get it ????

Re: Ingram to IR?
Stubborn Coach!

Re: Ingram to IR?
Outside of Drew Brees, I don't know if there is a more valuable guy we have on offense other than Roll Tide. Competes on every play. I bet he injured that shoulder shedding a block, allowing Brees an extra nano second to find the open receiver for a substantial gain.
Wishing a speedy, healthy recovery for Roll Tide :bng:. |
Re: Ingram to IR?
I have to give props where props are due. I was really down on him the first 3 and a half years he was here and wanted him gone. I thought extending him was a mistake. He has turned out to be a bad ass who has become a very complet back. Blockes well, catches well, and runs with fire and heart. All this in spite of our line. We get a guard or two and we will really see what this guy can do. I think he could be all pro.
Hopefully we dont waste him behind a ****ttty line in the prime of his careeer. |
Re: Ingram to IR?
Bring in PT for a curtain call unless we are lining up for draft picks.
|
Re: Ingram to IR?
Ugh. I hope he gets the surgery/treatment he needs ASAP so he's locked in for start of next season.
|
Re: Ingram to IR?
Hope it's the lesser of several evil's…..shoulder's can blow for a RB. Thought he picked up the blitzes pretty well this year, hope Drew has new tennies.

When you are watching everything go to Hell, it never stops to you hit the bottom.

Re: New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram placed on IR
He surprised me with how well he catches the ball out of the backfield.
A shame he's injured but atleast its not in a season where we'd miss him going for a playoff push. |

Re: New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram placed on IR
i think we all underestimated him.
realizing now, he was in for not only being a complete back, but obviously, the best backfield blocker, which is vital to our O- scheme. |
Re: New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram placed on IR
I'll bet we see screens, short dump off passes and/or reverses when Spiller is in. I'm just not sure if Payton has any other plays for him. With this porous line we won't see Drew have time to pick apart a defense or go down field with the deep passing game.

Let's figure out how to sit Drew for the remainder of the 2015 debacle, lest he get injured as well.
|
Re: New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram placed on IR
It's a shame that we've had such a bad season whilst Ingram was having one of his best.
He really surprised me with how well he catches the ball, he really was becoming that every down back that we needed. Unfortunately, every down backs get injured, he deserved that contract he got. Besides Brees and maybe Cooks, he was our best offensive weapon. |
Re: New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram placed on IR
Drew sitting out the remainder of the season? Doesn't that smack of the dreaded "T" word?
|
Re: New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram placed on IR
He only got put on IR because the season is over. If we had even the smallest of chances Ingram would still be playing, but there is no sense in getting him hurt more for nothing. Might as well start his healing process now that the team has nothing to play for but draft picks.

Re: New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram placed on IR
A running back that's had shoulder surgery!!! The only thing worse than that would be a QB who's throwing arm required surgery!!!
