Spiller to play 'significant' role with Mark Ingram out

"We're going to get a chance to see more now," Payton said of Spiller, via The Time-Picayune's Evan Woodbery. "...He'll play a significant role as will Tim Hightower."

Payton: "CJ Spiller is on our team!??" LOL Pathetic! I heard he doesn't play because New Orleans is below sea level!

Maybe it's not the player but the coaching. I'm starting to think this is our biggest problem.

Ill believe it when I see it...

I am willing to bet that Hightower gets more action.

Yep. I'm also willing to bet Hightower gets the bulk of Roll Tides carries and Spiller in on passing downs .

I'm with ya'll. Betting Spiller ain't in the backfield because he can't pass protect in our offensive scheme, too. Protecting Brees against the rush is too vital. I'd think that's one of the reasons why they brought Austin Johnson off the PS, too.

Does this mean we will see double digit touches for #28?

I did not realize he has only played 5 snaps all season. Thats why he seems to disappear, hes never in there. No wonder we dont see him getting the ball. It must be due to the injury in camp. I have never known Payton not to play with one of his offensive toys like he has done with Spiller.
If you think about it he has played 5 snaps and one was for a TD. Pretty good ratio lol.
Guess we will see what he is all about now.

What a waste of money. Spiller show up. Or get CUT!

I slept on this last night, literally fell asleep with the lap top in bed, and I think this might be a good thing for Spiller to get force feed the rock.

Spiller biggest issue IMO rest between his ears and having faith in that knee. He is tentative and cautious

What is the biggest difference between him and Hightower?

FAITH

Spiller made a comment the other day about knowing where he is suppose to be. Makes me think he doesn't know or understand the playbook well enough and is making mistakes in practice which is keeping him off of the field.

Who is C.J. Spiller? What position does he play for the saints?

This may just force Payton to change his predictable game planning.

Like I said he has only been in 5 snaps all year. I think it is more of Paytons call and Spiller never completely recovered from preseason injury. I wouldnt give up on him yet.
