Quick Slant Routes

Anyone else notice how effective they were yesterday vs Bucs? I don't recall us running that play much at all (if any) this year. Much more effective than those WR screens we always seem to run.

We used to kill teams with the Slant in the mix.

The announcers mentioned that the bucs had been getting killed by slant passes for the last few weeks, obviously Payton did his homework.

That is my favorite go to pass play. When I play football that is where I get a lot of my yards. It is hard to stop.

The perfect 3rd and short pass play.

Definitely better than the ineffective screen. These quick plays should be go to all the time for us with the kind of pressure Drew is always under.

The rub in most slant plays run now a days is one of the hardest things for a WR to learn. WR are generally just to much of a prema dona to learn how to block.
