Sean
is he here next year or not?
|
Re: Sean
I hope not.

Re: Sean
Yes, in my opinion. I hope so. We could have worse and our management's business model would suggest we probably would get worse…….We could have a coach who throws one pass to possibly one a the best WR's in a generation that was covered man to man by Brandon Browner from start to finish. my two cents

Saban in New Orleans..... You never know. |
Re: Sean
Good lord how many of these threads are started every week? He is one of the best coaches in the league and will go on to win more Super Bowls but I think he is done here. I dont think he has the passion or drive here in new orleans anymore. He is just going through the motions. I thrink he leaves on his terms. I have a feeling he will ask to be traded

I think Sean will be back, along with most of the current coaching staff. I do believe at this point the guy is probably burned out and really needs this season to end.

How can we not display a consistent, AVERAGE defense in Sean Payton's era here is baffling for me. |
Re: Sean
Buh-bye...
Please? |
Re: Sean
I can't see any situation that Sean will not be here next year.
Look the one single guy that brought us a SB and we are going to can him??? |
Re: Sean
Here me out on this Who Dats ...
I'm by no means predicting SP's departure but it wouldn't surprise me. There was a time where I thought he was the best coach in all of the NFL... maybe with the exception of Bill Bellicheck. Over the last 2, 3 years we have seen coaches like Carroll, McCarthy, Rivera & Harbaugh move into this conversation. If and when he does eventually move on, I hope there is a solid replacement as good as the aforementioned. Those teams prior to Payton's arrival in NO were pretty damn bad. |
Re: Sean
I think he's gone, atleast I hope he is.
Done riding the success of 2009, wake up, it was 6 years ago and he's done nothing since 2011. |
Re: Sean
Are you guys kidding? Do you even remember life before we had Payton and Brees? We were not even a competitive team for 90% of this history of this team prior to them. Be scared of the day we don't have them any more and we are back to life like the Browns.
As much as I appreciate we are on the decline I am not eager to fall off the cliff. |
Re: Sean
ok what did SP do wrong? offense puts up the points and is always rated high yet because the defense can not stop a blind three legged monkey we are booting him?
Rob is gone. huge start 2017 baby. 2017 |

Too many times our offense only comes alive in garbage time. The offense did nothing to aid the D, when the Defense was tired the O just put them straight back out there. |
Re: Sean
Loumis here - Payton gone
Loumis gone - Payton stays Brees and Benson here no matter |

I'm on Sean Payton's bandwagon until the wheels fall off and we're dragging the wagon leaving deep groves in the road. If the horses die then they can hitch me up to the wagon and I'll pull it by myself. I'm in this for the duration of the ride. It's been one hell of a ride so far and I'm looking forward to the rest off this journey. Not only that I had to learn how to spell his name correctly. It's Sean Payton. Not Shawn Peyton. So, no way in Hell do I want Sean anywhere besides New Orleans! Besides, with all the fair weather fans jumping off the wagon I've got more elbow room for drinking with true Who Dats! |

Offense did nothing first half. Wait are you of the mindset that it's natural because of the offense scoring 6 in the sb first half? We need oline protection and a receiver who can bail Cooks out when he' facing peterson or Norman. And next year Talib, Sherman, Jenkins, Carr additionally. |
Re: Sean
sorry I can not hang the offensive issues on SP. Two years straight everyone got what they wanted and the saints went defense in the draft and free agency. SP did not apply the defensive philosophy to players the saints added over that time. That was Robs brain child.
Unlike the many games we have seen from the saints under Rob the saints no longer give up. SP biggest mistake was letting ROB go after the players that Rob said would make his defense work. Failed plan and simple. No I can not hang a coach that has the ability to take an offense year in and year out that ranks at or near elite levels. I just can not do it. Yell about the people he has put faith into? sure been doing that since before the ink dried on Robs contract. As an offensive coach that excels in half time adjustments? nope lets see if DA gets the job as DC. So far DA has made adjustments on the fly with a very thin selection of players and for the most part is doing a better job coaching than Rob. i am 100% behind the man. still. |
Re: Sean
So who's going to replace him? No way Saban leaves Alabama, he's gets his pick of 5* recruits every year and only loses a game or two a season while being paid like a Saudi prince.
I could see Payton here next season but if this ship keeps sinking then I doubt he sees 2017 with the Saints. Another thing, he might want to sober up before talking to a national reporter on ESPN. Dude looked and sounded like he had just got off the plane from a three day bender last night and drove to the Superdome |

Re: Sean
Sean stays if he gives the playing calling duties to Carmichael & allows Dennis Allen to choose is own coaching staff.
|
Re: Sean
I dont get this give the playcalling to Carmichael. He didn't pull up any trees the year Payton was out. It was the same predictable plays as always.
Oh and before anyone starts with the "we have one of the highest rated offenses" runbish. Thats yards per game. They dont win you games, points do and not regularly going 3 snd out. Its easy to pile up yards when you start every drive on the 20 because your defense has more holes than a sieve |
