I think we have the best coach but worst GM, yes Loomis is a wizard with salary cap but terrible in evaluating players

Loomis does not evaluate the players. Payton has complete authority there. Loomis finds the money. If you are going to blame someone on our personnel blame Payton and the scouts. Loomis spends money where Payton tells him to.

For all of us wanting Vitt gone, Payton is the first piece of the puzzle. For better or worse, Payton has to leave for Vitt to be fired.

Well if Sean did actually tell someone he would be interested in the 49ers last year, it should be noted that half the team has retired since that time. I'm just going to guess that Sean has cooled on that idea.

They aren't some uber talented team waiting for the right coach. That entire organization all but evaporated over the off-season.

I am not sure Payton has all the say so on personnel matters. If he does then I think he has made some bad choices. I do think Loomis is part of the problem He is managing the Pelicans also which I think is a mistake. Get us another GM who's only concern is this football team and let Loomis take care of the Pelicans. Payton is all ready the highest paid coach so what is his reason for wanting to leave? Or is something else going on inside this organization I think so and I think the problem is Loomis. We need to do a better job of evaluating our future players for God's sake.

If your going to loose Payton and replace him with Martone we may aswell trade Drew,cut the dross no matter the cap hit and Nuke the roster and start again. We'd still finish above the Ritans,Browns and Bucs

I'd rule out both Cowgirls and Dirty birds. JJ has already given Jason the vote of confidence by coaching one more year and I think if Atlanta makes any immediate changes, it would be GM Dimitroff. Quinn is safe ... for now.

It would be very harsh on Garrett if he got sacked. Loosing Murray in the summer then he QB for most the season. Fant expect a team to produce with that.

The Saints would be flat out delusional to accept a 2nd for SP however the 2nd is a good starting place for compensation if the organization really wants to move him. Multiple suitors will drive up the price.

i posted a article years back when loomis confirmed he make the decision on drafts. He brought in Jeff Ireland now to oversee picks. The blame for drafts and free agent signings is all him

It all comes down to what the truth is. Perhaps Payton truly wants to leave and feels he needs a change of scenery to stay motivated. If he leaves the team no choice then I am all for maximizing our return for him rather than holding him to a contract he doesn't want and then getting nothing for him the following year.

If he does want to leave we should not try to keep him here. I would be very sad if this was the case. He's been the best coach this organization has ever seen and we would likely not replace him with anyone close to his ability. If he leaves I don't care where he goes. Watching your ex date someone else is not made better by any means.
