Dennis Allen seems to be the better defensive strategist and coach. RR was unable to make halftime adjustments whatsoever, nor did he scout opponents at all - it seemed.

I'm sure you are not alone Halloween65 but ...

We managed to win without Ellerbe, Lewis, Breaux (2nd half), held the dirty birds to 17 total points and only one defensive penalty (Kikaha didn't get off the field in time). DA may not be the answer but he could be part of the solution ;).

Makes you wonder what could have been if RR would have been canned at the beginning of the season and DA running the D. We would probably still be playing after this week.

If I added correctly the failclowns had 272 yds in the 1st half and 152 yds in the 2nd half

I know its a new week & all but the Jags almost pulled a comeback on us we did play at least one good half, I wouldn't mind DA staying but i don't know about as a DC

Still give up around 425 yrds on D thats still good for last in the league. Not the solution I see. Thats slapping lipstick on a pig and calling it good. Denver #1 gives around 300 yrds. per game , Giants give around 416 yrds. per game for dead last. We usually own the Clowns anyway.

If it was up to me, I'd like to see the entire defensive staff gone with the exception of DA. Allen hasn't done a poor job since taking over for Rob but to expect a 180 degree turnaround in a month isn't realistic at this level.

Add key pieces on D through FA, cut dead weight & draft well. Peat, Kikaha, Anthony, Breaux, Swann all contributed as rookies (credit Jeff Ireland). There is no reason we won't have another strong draft class.

As I stated at the beginning of the season, teams had better get us now while we are inexperienced. The Saints could be a lot closer to being back in the playoff hunt next season than some realize.

Allen's been here all year, DC or not. He should have had his head in the game the minute he took over but come out clueless. I would love to get rid of them all. Pettine is unemployed and has a pretty good tree he come from. Then we might get back into the hunt , Allen will be lucky to get us to 25.

RR was a huge part of the problem. But the main problem is lack of talent due to bad drafting.
