If he doesn't win that Superbowl, then Jim Mora would still be the greatest in our history, because he won more consistently, and he was the FIRST to win here. It still comes down to what have you done for me lately, even if that doesn't seem fair. I didn't want him fired this year, but I have been on record as saying that this organization needs to start moving back in the right direction soon, or it will be time for a change. Some coaches become stale in one place. Call it complacency, or maybe it's something about the environment they're in, that they get tired of. And some guys just get too old, but that one doesn't apply to Sean, obviously. So you don't just hold onto a guy forever because of one great season and a couple of good one's. He's earned the right for more time. But after another season or two, if this thing is still moving backwards, then you have to accept reality. You can't be afraid of the past returning. If we keep losing, we'll have already returned. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.
