PFF says our oline ranked third in 2015
Huh? It was on twitter.

Re: PFF says our oline ranked third in 2015
PFF lol
1. Drew Brees pocket awareness 2. play calling Hey PFF guys. Put these factors into O-line grade. Not that simple? huh We have serious O-line problems that need solving. |
Re: PFF says our oline ranked third in 2015
Can't agree with that ranking...
Pass blocking was average at best and run blocking was non-existent. |
Re: PFF says our oline ranked third in 2015
Aren't these the same people that have overrated Strief for years? If so then who cares what they ranked the Saints Oline

Re: PFF says our oline ranked third in 2015
THPLT!!!
That's what I think of PFF ACK! |
Re: PFF says our oline ranked third in 2015
Our Oline was wayyyy better than it has been the past two years. Still some work to do and still definitely need to improve on run blocking. Although after seeing Hightower I am not totally convinced our lack of a running game was due to poor run blocking.
Drews interceptions were down this year and the oline had its say in that. Hopefully Peat works out. |

Stop Ingram bashing, the guy had 4.5 yds per carry. Hightower along with every other back was at 3.8 or less.
Bottom line, the line sucked at run blocking. |
Re: PFF says our oline ranked third in 2015
Run blocking wasn't the problem, obvious on passing situations (3rd and more than 2) our pass blocking was terrible. Watts was dominating Strief so bad they switched our left tackle over. Lelito in the beginning was being beaten like a step child. Idk if Jahari was injured or not but if you could avoid his arm reach you could just run or walk around him.

Drew Brees pocket awareness and nothing more, the guy has quick feet from playing Tennis at a young age.

Re: PFF says our oline ranked third in 2015
Aside from Armstead and Unger the other 3 positions were very sub-par. This is as stated, a faculty of Brees and the play calls making up for a weak o-line.

Brees has carried many players for years.

Re: PFF says our oline ranked third in 2015
I think all we really need is a left guard. Lelito is way better at RG. Plug Peat in at right tackle and we're in good shape... Just need a LG.

Re: PFF says our oline ranked third in 2015
And people have trusted their ratings on Strief season after season. 😂

Re: PFF says our oline ranked third in 2015
Our main problem on the O line is inconsistancy. The lineup changes so much from year to year that our line doesnt get a chance to gel and play as one unit. Personnel continuity at that position is more important than any other position in the game. Its not a position that you can just plug and play very often. We have changed a major part of our offensive line every year for about 4 years now.

Armstead is good. Unger may have been ok, though it's hard to tell when he's surrounded by lackluster guard play. PFF grading is no more of a science than high school prospect rankings. In fact, I think it's even less accurate. |
