New Orleans Saints work out kicker Josh Scobee

The New Orleans Saints worked out kicker Josh Scobee this week, according to a report from Pro Football Talk.
The Saints, who have no kickers under contract for 2016, did not immediately offer Scobee a contract.
Veteran Kai Forbath finished the season with the Saints' job but he will be an unrestricted free agent. The Saints are likely to have two kickers competing for a spot in training camp.
Scobee, 33, spent 11 years with the Jacksonville Jaguars after being drafted by the team in the fifth round out of Louisiana Tech in 2004.
He was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers last August and made 6 of 10 field goals before being waived Oct. 3.

Please, no. The kicker that ended up taking over last year for Pittsburgh was much better. This is another one of those "let's see if he will work out on a better offense(not really last year)' moves trying to prove someone isn't done.

Some people excessively wash their hands.

Some people flip lightswitches just to make sure they work.

Some people remember obscure historical dates that nobody else can remember.

Some people do everything in threes, or multiples of a certain number.

Some people count the number of tubas in the parade.


Our OCD coach compulsively works out kickers.

Nothing to see here. I sometimes think Payton tries out kickers just to keep busy, whenever he's thinking about something else that he needs to fix or is difficult to solve.

Worse than Kai Forbath?

That's why they call them tryouts...

At the least, leverage when negotiating contract renewals...

Can you imagine every long kick and the Superdome crowd shouting in unison "Scooooobee Doo" as the ball floats through the air toward the goal posts?!?

There's some real potential comedy here...
