I agree. I hope they sign everybody on the list. Purging talent from Seattle is a good idea, and getting Unger a familiar face next to him could be another plus.

I wonder about Lions MLB Tahir Whitehead who is more than serviceable as a miscast MLB. I always saw him outside

As long as they are dependable, durable and cheap..... go for it.

As soon as someone says "Stud", No thanks. Something happens to the "Studs" on the flight from wherever to NOLA.

He is an OLB, but Tulloch (MLB) has never been the same since the "celebration" injury (http://blackandgold.com/nfl/68351-li...lebration.html), so they use Tahir as a backup MLB.

Wants to be considered a starter, has good heart and makes a difference when he's out there, IMO. Lions would be stupid not to wrap him up, so that means he'll probably be available,.

I was hoping you would put your 10 cents in on him. Every time I have watched him play I was always impressed with his all around game. Never took the time to find out why he was at MLB. Which according to his scouting reports might have been what the Dr ordered for his game to be a better OLB.

Not sure the scouts knew what to write about him.
One said "he's good in coverage." I am guessing that was man coverage.
Yet another "He doesn't look natural when dropping into zone coverage and shouldn't be put in a scheme in which he has to defend the pass often."

So I am going with zone coverage was the knock on the kid and his instincts in zone. Well that what a MLB is all about in coverage and from what I have seen he has made the most of it. A move back to WLB may just be the break this kid needs and for some team to reap the rewards of all the time in the middle. I do not think he is looking for a long term contract as much as an honest shot. He should not break the bank. He gets an honest shot on a team with a glaring weakness at WLB and we get quality depth upgrade at the least as a stop gap measure if the starter bit does not work out.

From what i saw his game appears to have come along way.

Sign'em all.

Especially Howard from KC. 6'3" 301 who is quick & young. 4th Round pick out of Florida in 2012 by SEA. Made $660,000 this year; get him here.

I liked him and was always glad to see him in the game ... there was something about his game that I remember not being thrilled with and it might be that zone coverage thing, but he was a breathe of fresh air with Tulloch's injury and the loss of DeAndre Levy for the season. I don't know if he could carry a linebacker corps, but he's a dang fine addition.

I think you're right, he just wants a chance to prove himself & is confident he'll get paid after that. The Lions did start him quite a bit the second half of the schedule and they do have a competent DC in Teryl Austin, so I gotta' think they're gonna' sign him, but you never know with Detroit,.
