Marques Colston: Show The Love

It is my sincere prayer that Marques Colston wears only one jersey his entire career...:bng:

Probably my favorite player. Hate seeing the decline but nothing lasts forever. He better retire a Saint is all I gotta say.

Sometimes you forget but that was excellent footage to remind us of what he has accomplished as a Saint. I agree with jeanpierre I would like to see him stay a Saint. I would even say he is on my top ten list of all time favorite Saint players, on and off the field.

A true class act. I, too, hope he retires a Saint. Guys like him are few and far between in today's sports world.

He has taken a lot of punishment as a receiver. Mainly because he runs TE routes. Gets stuck almost immediately and a lot of times by two smaller defenders that have to bring it to take the big man down. Really amazed he has lasted this long to be honest.

I didn't realize he never made the Pro Bowl. That's an injustice.

2006: 70 catches | 1,038 yards | 8 TD's as a rookie.
2007: 98 catches | 1,202 yards | 11 TD's

4 straight 1,000 yard seasons from 2009 to 2012. Two 900 yards seasons in 2013 and 2014. Travesty.

I bet if he was picked in the first three rounds he would've. Its sad, really. But who cares? We as Saints fans know what we had with him. He was a huge factor in our offensive success.

The reason I like him so much - well, one of many - is that I have a pretty good feeling he doesn't care much either. I don't think that was ever any part of what it has been about for him. I could be wrong. I don't know the man. I know he's ate up with class though and from all I can tell is an asset to anything he gets involved in. I'd bet a million dollars on it if I could.

Great person and a great player for our team!

If the rookies in the NFL are looking for a player to aspire to, then look no further than Marques Colston!

GEAUX SAINTS!

He literally and figuratively came out of nowhere
He was so unknown that most fantasy leagues had him listed as a TE when he was a rookie, and people cleaned up

He can still give us 40-5 catches next year, and with so much dead money, I think he stays

I quit a fantasy league over it; seven of the teams decided to have an improptu vote and decided I couldn't use him as a TE mid-season...

Turned out to be a good thing, it lead to some further in-fighting and finally came out the same three guys in a twelve-team league had been in collusion since the league's first season...

Didn't play in a money league for five years - and still prefer leagues with friends...

But I knew the Saints were heading for good times when we finally were that team that got that player at the end of the draft...

Colston and Pierre Thomas knocking off the Ohio State fourth round punk...

Knew good things were coming...

One of the best draft picks in franchise history.

Be thankful to Brees also for another reason, in his and also in Paytons book they both write how Colston endured a terrible training camp to the point where he would not be given a roster spot.

However Brees went to Payton and lobbied for Colston, saying he saw something special in him and he could be great if Brees was given more time to work with him.
Payton granted that and Colston started week 1 in 2006 and never looked back.

If this is Colston's last year then I just want to say thanks for everything Marques, nobody else at your position embodies a truer professional when the position is populated by diva's.
