Wich Ex Saint would You want back?

I've seen a lot of reminiscing about ex Saint players since the Fields testing F Agency post. I've seen names like Turley, Delhomme,Fields,Glover etc all come up. Out of these names or others Who would you love to take back and add to the current roster?Myself I would like to see B Smith back. Put him and Howard on the ends and line up Grant on the inside, with Smith moved to a linebacker position as someone mentioned on an earlier difeerent post.

I\'d love to see Glover as a Saint again. However, he\'ll be expensive and we would still need a runstuffer DT, so I\'m sure it won\'t happen.

I don\'t think that Grant is suited for an inside position. Howard moved inside on our passing downs, not Grant. I also don\'t think we can afford to keep Howard and still improve our defense appropriately.

B Smith did have quite the motor on him, though.

I also don\'t think Turely is a bad option, but I don\'t think he\'ll play for Haz.

Glover hands down but if I go back in the past it will be Sam Mills. Just his leadership & motivation could turn our defense around

Ohh, what a can of worms...

You all know who I want back, but we\'re not allowed to talk about \"He - who - must - not - be - named\" anymore.

Gonna go listen to some Buckwheat Zydeco ... I think he\'s from Lafayette, isn\'t he???

Considering the circumstances behind all the ex-Saints departure, I can honestly say..
Leroi Glover. Only because of what happened afterwards with Joe Johnson.

Maybe Mark Fields, because our LB\'s are so pathetic, but he was due HUGE money and I don\'t think he was worth the money he\'d require.

Yeah, probably Glover tops my list.

Roaf? He was an unhappy malcontent who would have rather retire than stay here, good riddance.

Turley? A mickey mouse LT.

Grady? We have enough part time players here already

Delhomme? Probably in the top 2-3. I\'m starting to grow tired of Brooks. I\'d welcome the identity change.

T-rex? Naw. No thanks. We drafted a clone at 1/3 the price.

Sounds like Glover is a hands down. Was it cause how he left, No attempt to sign was made is what I heard? Or is it cause we can picture a totally different looking D with him in it, either way that was fun.

Glover is the most likely, mainly because the 1st time we played the Cowgirls Haslett went to Glover after the game and told him that he and Mueller had made a mistake and apoligized. I personally could care less about Dellhome he reminds me to much of Bobby Hebert, always pointing a finger at somebody.

Glover, Fields. Turley burnt bridges.

With Brooks rating of 79.5 my guess would be the 3rd Manning brother that did not play football could come out and put up better numbers ....

The one loss that hurt more than anyone else was Willy, 9-time probowler, future Hall of Famer, Roaf!!

Marc Bulger is a great answer!
LaRoi Glover is too similar a tackle to Young. They\'re both very good but, without Hand stuffing the run and taking up two blockers each play I don\'t think Glover would have the impact he previously had with us. Yeah, how bout having Hand back in 2000 form?

Roaf was replaced by Turley and then Gandy , so there has been some stability at that position but the DT position has been all over the place since the releasal of Glover .

Turly sucked at LT, IMO. And Gandy has been anything but stable. He\'s done okay at times, but then other times he\'s looked flat awful.

If we would have had Roaf at LT with Deuce running behind him, there\'s no telling what kind of numbers Deuce would have put up. Not to mention Roaf\'s ability to keep the best pass rushers in the NFL at bay and allowing our QB time to get the ball to our speedy receivers.

Willie Roaf and i see the disagreement in some earlier post, but I want him back to this day, and I\'ll bet if you ask Capers he would tell you he wished he had taken him in the supplemental draft.

Bulger eh?? Was he a draft pick they gave up or something? I didn\'t know he was a Saint, It wasn\'t on his player bio?

I think adding Glover to the line with Young would work. You\'d have two high-motor guys always causing havoc. Opposing D\'s would have to double team one of \'em eventually to slow down some of the rush. Therefore, you\'d have the equivalent of a double team that a guy like Hand would draw.

But at anytime with Turley or Gandy , have the Saints ranked dead last in protecting the QB ???

The DT position has gone down the toilet with a few first round picks following it since the releasal of Glover ...

When Turley was here, it was quite apparent that he had no business at LT. He was a very good RT, but he was also a CANCER. He was a CANCER with the Saints and he was a CANCER with the Rams.

And it\'s been quite apparant that Gandy was not the answer at LT. He\'s not the worst, but, the last couple of years, Gandy has not done a good job.

As far as Glover goes. His loss hurt. But he\'s far from being the \"sole\" reason for the decline of our run defense. We also lost Joe Johnson, Sammy Knight and several linebackers.

Yeah we drafted Bulger in I believe the 6th round in 2001. We cut him in training camp so he never made the final roster which is probably why it\'s not on his bio.
Hey everybody, Glover would not have the sacks he had if Hand wasn\'t making havoc with the interior of the O-lines. I love Glover and think he\'s a great leader/playmaker/intelligent football player, but if we don\'t have a quality NT, then every interior defender is somewhat hamstrung.

If you can bring back someone from long ago than Ricky Jackson. If you are talking about someone playing I would say Willie Roaf.
