Most likely Brees' extension may be easier if he knows Payton will be here for the foreseeable future.

Coach Payton is really good at developing quarterbacks and getting the best out of them. I would love if Brees played 2-3 more years and if SP coached up the next guy so that the next HC already have a stud QB to work with.

Agreed, which is why I wouldn't pass up an offensive A-prospect to pick a B prospect on defense just to fill a need.

True. Luke McCown looks great in our offense. We got Chase Daniel a small chance at starting that he probably shouldn't have gotten either.
