Your favourite Marques Colston memory?
I thought it would only be right to pay a tribute to one of the best professionals we've ever had on this team.
So either post a video or just describe your best memory of Colston. I couldn't find the video of mine but it's from way back in 2008 in week 17 vs Carolina Brees was under pressure from a blitz and threw a high ball across the middle of the field As the DB (unsure who) jumped to intercept it, Colston out jumped him, caught the ball, slammed the DB to the floor, then ran another 10 yards before running straight over another DB and stepping over him into the endzone. Emphatic spike of the ball and pointed to the sky in typical Colston fashion. |

Re: Your favourite Marques Colston memory?
The way that I'll always remember Colston doesn't involve particular plays that he made, but rather the completely selfless and professional way he played the game. No dancing or show boating, just a man proud to do his job without constant need for attention. So it's funny, my favorite Colston memories are the times he didn't try to make himself stand out. It's not gonna be the same without the Quiet Storm.

Re: Your favourite Marques Colston memory?
My memorable Colston play was 2008 Monday night football against the Green Bay packers when he took a deep pass right into the endzone to basically blow the game up and allowing the defense to start putting the game away after it was virtually a shootout in the first half.

Re: Your favourite Marques Colston memory?
Oh and one other, his last minute TD catch against Atlanta in 2008 week 10 when the game was already over.

Re: Your favourite Marques Colston memory?
Not a specific moment, but remember 2011 as being the first season I really noticed Colston & started paying closer attention ... not bad for the 252nd pick outta' Hofstra, ;). Best of luck buddy, :).

Drew Brees trying to get him killed in the San Francisco game.

Re: Your favourite Marques Colston memory?
After watching the above video, his nickname should have been "Mr First Down"... "And Then Some".

Re: Your favourite Marques Colston memory?
There are so many......it's hard to differentiate between all of his clutch catches over ten years. Father Time waits for no man. It is the natural evolution and NFL process. From 7th rounder to the leader of a franchise on the rebound. Maybe he made Drew look good.

-- all those back/shoulder receptions, indefensible, for first downs.
He was the best. Much Love #12. |
Re: Your favourite Marques Colston memory?
My Favorite memories will be The Fact that for his initial 6 seasons, he was the epitome of consistency. I wish him Well. Hopefully he signs a 1 day contract to retire a New Orleans Saint.

Re: Your favourite Marques Colston memory?
This would have not worked out with any other QB. Not taking anything away from the man but the precision of those back shoulder gifts kept him viable for a long time, many of which put him in situations where he got absolutely pounded just like a TE. SB though, he kept dem chains moving. Will never forget that effort. Very critical in that game. I think a lot of people forget that fact.
