Saints may return home for camp this year

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; This NEEDS to happen. We were soft coming off the last two years in camp. Time to man up and get in game shape early to start the year off right and build momentum....

Well ...

Rotten - I ain't so sure about that & here me out . Metarie in late May - August .. WHEW humidity, sun, 100+ degree temps in the shade etc can be an absolute beat down at TC. Players are more prone to repeated cramps, heat exhaustion and dehydration. Some of the bigger issues for the Saints and winning had more to do with having an extremely young team on D, coaches & the level of talent in camp vs Greenbriar, WV. I just don't see how practicing in high humidity can assist in conditioning but that's just me.

Denver, NE, Seattle, Ravens, Giants (all recent SB winners) have TC's in higher altitude type settings.

Flame away .

I never thought it was the location that was the problem either. Other teams practice in milder climates and don't have a problem at all. We looked soft several years ago when we practiced at Millsaps.

Heat, humidity and rain are problems down here. Perhaps they plan on practicing in the indoor facility more than usual.
