New Orleans Saints Owner Tom Benson indicated today that negotiations with the State of Louisiana are continuing in a positive manner. As a further indication of this fact, all deadlines have been eliminated and it is hoped that a new agreement will be reached before the upcoming legislative session. Benson reiterated his continued pledge to work with the State in a positive manner to reach a mutual goal that will keep the Saints in New Orleans.

The original deadline had been established in order for the Saints to update the NFL and its ownership at the League's upcoming annual meeting. As chairman of the NFL Finance Committee, Benson will still make a report to the League and its ownership at the meetings regarding the status of the current negotiations.
