That vast majority of GM's in the NFL are talent oriented with little or no clue of economics or accounting principles. They are primarily personnel driven. Loomis was schooled as an accountant. He knows how to maximize something as simple as a cap. He knows how to to work contracts through cost and management accounting concepts that most cannot understand. My degree is in accounting and I was among the top of my class. I have always understood what he was doing and he is brilliant. The whole ongoing farce of the Saints being in "cap hell" in based upon a totally uneducated media feeding an equally uneducated public. |
