Opening guesses
 

I'm thinking if we play at home week 3 against Atlanta, we probably play at home week 1. The options for week 1 are slim though, it's between two teams, TB and Oakland as I see Seattle being a bigger game(and they can play at home week 1), LA getting a MNF opener, Detroit being a MNF matchup again, and Denver hosting Carolina for opener.

Just think we get Oakland week 1, Atlanta week 3(we cannot lose that for Gleason), that's a possible 2-1 start there. Week 2, we could go on the road against Arizona, San Diego, TB(giants probably a big game for later on, KC on road week two due to royals-that's now a fixed schedule because they're both winning,). Maybe SF, but giants play at home week 2. If It's TB or SD we could have maybe a 3-0 start.

I'm hoping they give the game that falls on 9-25-16 as a home game versus Atlanta

That's what I was thinking but I don't see it being SNF however.

I think they would be CRAZY not to put that Saints/Falcons game on Sunday night football if they can get it. Plus with no Peyton Manning it is kind of an open year as far as celebrities and star players go, and figuring out who the powerhouse teams will be.

The "media favorites" as far as players go, that are used to drive the storylines or marquee names for the prime time and Sunday night games, are changing...they're not going to be quite as obvious or clear cut this year, as in some of the past years. You still have Brady, Rodgers, Brees and so forth, but not having Peyton around, I think we will see a major change in the way that certain games and teams get covered and hyped.

Best Rivalry Games In NFL should be used to open season on Sunday Night...

Packers v Bears
Redskins v Cowboys
Falcons v Saints
Ravens v Steelers
Raiders v Chiefs
Pats v Jets

But you can bet the first game in Los Angeles (Rams) will be the Big Kahuna as far as the League Office is concerned...

I wonder without Peyton, will they still run Patriots vs Broncos for the Thursday night opener?

SNF has to do with winning records and major market teams. 7-9 has never gotten us two games. Denver is probably getting three NBC games even without Manning. Seattle is not losing a extra game because of Lynch's retirement. Detroit has not been a SNF mainstay.

Its been speculated to be Carolina and that matchup has only been on NBC every other year.

we have been on the road the last two season, we have to start off at home this year

We were at home at one point three straight seasons week 1 and five of six. Only reason we went on the road week 1 in 2011 was because of going to GB for the season opener. Otherwise it would be six straight. However, Atlanta, was on the road four straight openers from 10-13. Also, because Atlanta's MNF against Philly was week 1 last year that probably factored in us being on the road again last year.
