Look at our FA's not counting Drew next year. We need a lot to sign them. Unger, Letio, KV, Jenkins, Edbali, Coleman, Fairley, Dixon, Snead, Kyle Wilson and Cadet to name a few. Now, add in Brees and see what it's at....

Unger just restructured and added on years. That's plenty of money to resign Armstead, Snead and make a couple big splashes in free agency

Max Unger hasn't signed an extension. Between him, Brees and Armstead that'll be half of the cap space right there. Still nice to not have to create space though.

Looking at the salary cap numbers:
2017- includes 38 players one of which is not named Drew Brees. It is fair to say that players like Delvin Breaux will eventually warrant an upgrade in contract. 2018- includes 24 players. I am not even sure this even warrants discussion when the list includes only 24 players...... |
