Former Saints CB Brandon Browner says he played through torn MCL
 

Former New Orleans Saints cornerback Brandon Browner played through a torn MCL last season, he revealed on his Instagram account Wednesday.

Browner took a helmet to his knee during the preseason opener against the Ravens on Aug. 13 and left the game on a cart. He missed the final three preseason games with the injury, which was described as "not serious" at the time.

Ha ha I don't believe that for one second.... Browner trying to get on a team saying the reason I played soooo bad in the history of the cornerback position was because my mcl..... So that explains all the grabbing of the jerseys and Pass Interference calls... Please jus stop

Did he notify trainers and his position coach?!?

If the trainers knew, did they tell the coaches?!?

Did the coaches withhold that information?!? Then the league will hold it accountable...

Reminds me of when I was looking for my buddy after school. He did shot put but he wasn't at the field.
A 400 guy was making all kinds of noise about how he'd school me in a race. I wasn't in track. Football and soccer were it for me.
After a while, I'd finally had enough of his mouth and decided to accommodate him and race him at a 100.

By the time I crossed the finish line I turned around and saw him tying his shoes at the 70.

He was my Brandon Browner.

I'm calling BS also. It seems like every time some player has a REALLY bad season, like Browner had, they come out later and claim to have been injured. Sorry, I'm not buying that he was running around on a torn MCL. He might not have been 100%, but who is? It sounds like a lame excuse to me.

Your story reminded me of one of my uncles. I think I was about 14 at the time, and he was around 50, but he ran track when he was young and continued to run in marathons (still does to this day, as far as I know). Anyway, we were at a family gathering, and he was going on about what great shape he was in, and I told him that I could take him in a race (even though I didn't run track, I did train with my dad for a while).

I didn't even feel like I was being that bold. He might have been ok over long distances, but I was quite sure I could blow by him in a sprint. But he insisted he could take me. So we went outside, we marked out an approximation of 40 yards and got set. At the word "go" we took off, and I ran out the 40 yards, looked behind me and saw him just standing there about 15 yards from the start line.

He gave me this line of crap that he hadn't properly warmed up, and that he'd have to race me when he'd gone through his routine.... None of this was ever mentioned leading up to the race, and yet now it was suddenly a problem. I lost all respect for him, and as you might imagine, there was never a rematch.

All I can really say is I cannot blame him for bringing it up now. When you play defense on arguably the worst defense in the history of the NFL, and you get cut from that team, add on top of that your age of 31, set an all time record for committed penalties, and couldn't remotely cover anyone, that is a sure sign your NFL career is probably over. All he can hope for now is some sucker believes his story so he can have a shot at continuing his career.

I lost all respect for him when he got in Dennis Allen's face. He's a thug and not what we thought when we signed him.

On the other hand Dennis Allen gained my respect the way he handled it. He didn't waiver one bit and he didn't back off. :clap:

It's easy to say all of this, but it might be better to get the truth from Breaux since it's been said he was close to Browner and Browner helped him be better.
