makes sense. all the other safeties so far are unable to stay out of the tub.

He was second on the team last year in total tackles (104). First on the team in solo tackles(71), with 3 sacks... I say he had a pretty good season.

Although Harper had similar stats every year and he was called a "liability". Just sayin':p

Vaccarro not worth that type of money. I wish we would have let him walk. Harper was a much better SS.

He pretty much has the same stats as Vaccaro last year for every season of his career. 2011 was the exception, Harper had 7.5 sacks; Williams had him blitzing and around the L.O.S. A LOT more...

Harper was horrible in coverage and in the NFL of the past ten/fifteen years, that's a liability...

I have been very critical of Harper and had hope Vaccaro would be better, especially in coverage...

However, Vaccaro has been only slightly better in coverage, and he's made way more bone-headed plays (e.g. personal fouls) that Roman Harper hardly ever committed (exception being his endzone coversations with Panthers Steve Smith Sr.)...

But both were miserable in open-field tackling; Vaccaro has this season to get things right (i.e. Mark Ingram) if he wants to stay in the Big Easy, or he's a gone pecan...

Its worth the gamble. If he is good the contract will be extended easing the cap hit next year

Good! I like what Vaccaro brings to the table. He can be the kind of enforcer we need in the back end. And I hope to see him light up Matt Ryan again this year.

keeny is with us through the 2018 season now. his old contract expired in 2017. just saying

Hagan, thought this, 2016, was the last year of his first round rookie contract (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016) with 2017 being the fifth year option?!?

Point being that we have him for two more years...

Wonder sometimes if he wouldn't be a better nickel cornerback or free range free safety...
