Drew Brees says NFL can't be trusted, thought Deflategate was 'dead issue'
Tom Brady is suspended (again) for his role in Deflategate, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's guilty of what he's been accused of doing. What it means is that the Roger Goodell believes Brady is guilty and deserves a four-game suspension, and the judges who reinstated that suspension believe Goodell has the proper authority to do so.
At least one player doesn't agree with that assessment. According to Saints quarterback Drew Brees, who spoke with Sports Illustrated's Maggie Gray, Goodell has too much power and the league shouldn't be trusted. "I think we would all agree he definitely has too much power. He's basically judge, jury, and executioner when it comes to all league discipline," Brees said of Goodell. "Listen, I'm not going to trust any league-led investigation when it comes to anything because it's not transparent. At times, I feel like there's a desired conclusion or agenda that they have in mind and that prevents, maybe, the absolute truth from being told or the absolute facts from being presented. At the end of the day, we as the public, we as players, don't ever really get to see that. We never get to see those facts, those truths, those things." The players only have themselves to blame. They agreed to the cba.

Reading this, many questions cross my mind:
1) Like how unfair it is that this scandal involving Brady and the Patriots and Brady is the only one punished whereas in Bounty Gate our coach got a 1 year suspension. WTF?! 2) The Pats and the Saints practice together. Did this influence the way Drew Brees perceived this whole thing? 3) That Drew Brees ( for all his right-wing cred ) generally sides with the players union. 4) I find it curious that most fans seem to be OK with football players being part of a union -- but -- in most of the rest of the US -- unions are vilified as Communism. Why is that? I'm not even gonna talk about the Goodell angle -- because we all know what that's about. |

Godhell screwed with the wrong man. Drew is going to bad mouth him until he resigns. Drew is going to make Der Kommisar's life difficult. But then again every knowledgeable NFL fan already hates him. It's hard to watch him on TV because he's two faced and I don't believe a word that comes from his lips. In fact I'll mute the volume when he's speaking.

"Patriots were stripped of their first round pick; inflation technician was dismissed; no evidence to show Belichik had knowledge nor attempted to cover it up..."
That's not any where near enough. Payton didn't have knowledge of Bounty Gate either, right? "Like sitting in the hot tub together or warm showers kinda thing?!?" F-no! I just wondered if Drew was siding with the Pats in general because they scrimmage together and probably hang together some during off-season practice. "No, the common thread is that there is no true due process which to resolve such conflicts or allegations; same way we received the Bountygate Beatdown..." Of course, I understand and agree with his transparency and due process issues. |

I think it's a given that the Players will stick together. The comments from Drew don't surprise me one bit.
