It's a crap shoot, and one man isn't going to do it alone.

Trade down. Increase the odds is what I say.

Jalen Ramsey, S/CB, Florida State, 6005, 209 4.41

Maybe just maybe and a lot of if ands or buts
Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame 6055 315 5.17
Ezekiel Elliott RB OSU 5115 225 4.47

In a perfect world both would still be on the board
Shaq Lawson DE Clemson 6026 270 4.70
Jarran Reed, DT/DE, Alabama 6034 307 5.21

If none are on the board reach?

Josh Doctson WR TCU 6020 202 4.50
Laquon Treadwell Ole Miss WR 6020 221 4.64

Trade away is always an option. bottom half of one is not that much different than our next pick in round two

You guys seem to think you can just trade down if you want to. It's damn near impossible unless you're picking in the top 5.

I don't know, Chris, Arizona picked up a third round pick when they found a trade partner in the Saints...

That was Cardinal's pick 20 for the Saints' pick 27 and a third round pick in the 2014 draft...

Sometimes personnel decision makers have their man-crushes (Cooks)...

Right, but that's because we're the dopes always wanting to trade up. Not a lot of other teams do that.

Still don't like that trade... Cooks is good and Likely would have been there at 27, but with how deep WR was in that draft it was foolish to reach. Understandable why that entire scouting department got the axe... So many piss poor drafts by the old crew.

glad to see i am not alone.

The guy i wanted was Deon Bucannon, talk about insult to injury that year for me, he ended up with the Cards at 22. Cook I rated as a toy for SP and nothing more.

round 2? SJB instead of Allen Robinson or Jarvis Laundry? I have to stop there. that draft makes me sick still

That was a bad trade and the axe was just.

Hope we learned our lessons well

Like Lynch? Someone is bound to fall in love with him and want to trade up. Denver, Jets, Buffalo and the Cards all are in the market for a qb. Cards and Denver is a big drop though.

Think of all the times we've seen the Saints trade up when neither they, nor their trade partner were near the top 5. That partner had to trade DOWN with the Saints. So how is it nearly impossible? It happens all the time. It doesn't matter where you are in the draft. If a team wants a player and doesn't think they can get him by staying put, they will trade up.

It remains to be seen if such a scenario will unfold this year, but if it does, I'd be all in favor of it. Nobody is going to be available at 12 who is so awesome that we couldn't afford to pass him up in favor of getting more picks, and a better chance of hitting a home run.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.
