I would definitely like him at Free safety, as well. I'm very curious, though, what they will do with Byrd. It wasn't that we couldn't improve at safety, but the fact that we have so much invested there, that made this pick a surprise to me. I like the player though.

Byrd still has great talent. What if he actually stays healthy, for once, and starts to play well? That would be something.

Back to the 3 safety set a possibility?

Vaccaro, Byrd and Bell on the field in 3rd and long passing situations?

Uhhmmmmm..............OK? So he's not fast, big or rangy. Maybe he'll grow on me. It would be nice to have him outperform my expectations.

He's the fastest safety on our current roster and the fastest safety we've had in 10 years

Nope he is non of those things. But he has solid ball skills that do make up for most of these things.

Tackling is his biggest bugga boo.

Might?! He better, healthy or not he may lose his starting gig. Though I expect with the cap hit associated, it'll be tougher to sit him :doh:
