He can play DE opposite of Jordan on run downs and depth on the inside for passing downs...

Something i do like with them clips is he keeps his eye on the ball. You see how many time he disengages his blocker to shift onto the ball carrier.

He might be great...

I just don't think we needed to trade picks to get him. He likely would have been there for us in the 5th.

Huge upside with this guy, but when is the last time we have actually been successful with these 'project' players?

In addition, something tells me the Saints are looking at him for DE. He has the speed and power; along with being the same size as Jordan. If we truly wanted a DT Billings was still available, who many ranked as a 1st rounder.

No one outside of the draft room has any idea. They might have taken calls or heard rumors and someone might have been about to take a chance. So they traded up and got him first... Who knows...

Just curious, but how do you know? Have you ever heard of him before today or have you secretly been watching his game footage?

Because we went up to get, by trading two 5's a player that is "raw". Translate, potential to be great or flat out bust, just like the guy from vagina.

Further, we have left on our team 3 players from the 2011,2012, and 2014 drafts.

Two 5ths? We traded one 5th(next year) and swapped our 5th for their 4th.

In other words; you have nothing to base your opinion on. Just spouting off what you have heard without seeing him hit the field first. Got it!

Again, I just told you, I am looking at history with Hicks, same type of pick, and the fact that we have 3 players left from 2011,2012,and the 2014 drafts. That is God awful son. So no one can be certain, but that doesn't mean you can't look at our recent history, similar picks, and make a judgement on what you suspect will happen. If we can't then let's just all go home and let Halo close the site. WTF is the point if all you want is sunshine and rainbow nut showers blown up your ass.

It doesn't mean I am not routing for him to tear it up, of course I am. I love being wrong when it means we do well. I am free to criticize the move because giving up any pick to move up for him, IMHO, is stupid and stinks of more poor draft decisions that have got us back to back 7-9 seasons.

Re: David Onyemata Highlights

I was confused about this pick, thought we would get a guard since we are so thin in that area. I was pissed mainly cause I did all my homework on some of these players, especially Sean Davis and when we had opportunities to get the guy I wanted and we didn't get them. I reserved to hold my opinion til I researched the picks. My research on this David, I must say I am impressed. I like all of our picks just skeptical on how they going to handle the position of need like offensive guard

The 23-year-old pressed 33 reps on the bench press and ran a 5.06 40-yard dash, numbers his head coach Brian Dobie said afterwards were in line with the best of the NFL Combine.

Random fact: Green Bay called Onyemata's agent to say they were taking him in a few picks. Saints traded up to snag him instead.

Ok let me get this straight

The saints trade back into the draft ten spots higher than the packers to fulfill their man crush. Alright gotta find a partner I get it

In the process they gave up two fifths which is about a third round pick in value for this kid. OUCH for molding clay?

Wonderment? Why are the saints are throwing around picks like they are throwing around cash in FA.

I like the kid for a developmental player. He was on my short list of play clay options. So the player himself is not my issue. The fact you spent so much to get him is my issue. There were other players to mold still on the board so this must be some serious lust here.

Conclusion? They would not be stuck in this situation if their other man crush was not obtained in round 2. This is a chain reaction from the Bell trade that will always cloud his value for me.

All of this for a player I was high on already
