Picks traded by New Orleans Saints used to select a QB they scouted, 3 others
The New England Patriots and Washington Redskins combined to make four NFL Draft selections last week with picks they acquired in trades with the New Orleans Saints over the last two years.
Among them was former Indiana quarterback Nate Sudfeld, who was one of five signal-callers the Saints brought in for a pre-draft visit. Sudfeld went to Washington with a sixth-round pick that the Saints traded away in a 2015 draft-day deal that let the Saints move into the fifth round to select cornerback Damian Swann. That deal also brought Washington a fifth-round pick used in 2015 on receiver Evan Spencer, who the team released with an injury settlement after a concussion in the third preseason game. In another deal completed Saturday, Washington selected former Temple defensive tackle Matthew Ioannidis in the fifth round after the Saints traded into the fourth round to pick defensive lineman David Onyemata out of the University of Manitoba, in Canada. Washington also received the Saints' fifth-round pick for 2017 in the deal. read more |

I'd say that the Saints came out better.

and the winner of the crap shoot is ... who knows
it's not like we traded 5 picks to move up to number 1, or our entire draft for Ricky Williams. We dropped a couple fifth rounders, big deal. UDFA's are cheaper |
