Looking at the roster the only real hope of getting help for Sheldon Rankins appears to be Nick Fairley. If he does step up and the saints are able to sign him at years end, then we may not have an issue but

Sheldon Rankins is half a fix. Half a fix is like no fix at all at the pro level.

So a player like Sammie Hill makes a lot sense. nothing flashy just a solid veteran that has proven he can hold up at the point require two blockers and free Rankins up to do his thing.

There aren't a lot of quality FA's out there, especially in the areas we need, like linebacker or Corner. Good thing we took care of that in the draft.
