I've watched a lot of game tape on the guy and he just doesn't look pretty. Of course, Strief doesn't look nimble either, and he's got the job done for a long time.

Playing for UNC I figured his pass blocking would be top notch. They had a wide open offense.

I think he'll be fine. He's not a dancing bear but UNC average what 220+ yards rushing per game last season? The kid was a big part of that. Plus, we don't need him to come in and be a star, we just need him to come in, earn a spot and do the job. That's it.

I agree. Efficiency is the only important thing when it comes to playing football, you don't score extra points for being flashy.

With proper coaching, he can become a mauler.

Doubtful. 30 yrs old and a top 3 center. They would have to be insanely smart to unseat him. As a center you have to be extremely smart. Blocking alone just wont cut it.

How hard is it for a center to move over to guard?

Probably depends on what front the defense is playing and also if you run a zone blocking scheme yourself.

Zone blocking schemes sometimes can be difficult to learn because the whole line slides and has to make one definitive gap for the RB to plant and go through.
