Saints sign OT Tyrus Thompson
 

The Saints have signed offensive tackle Tyrus Thompson following a minicamp tryout, per various reports.

A sixth-round pick of the Vikings in 2015, Thompson was waived-injured at the conclusion of the preseason and later waived from the injured-reserve list. He then spent time on the practice squads of both the Jaguars and Lions and was recently waived by the Lions.

I think they want to give some competition to Armstead and ensure he has a quality backup because Peat is moving to LG.
