He's young but that tank seems empty. Cant hurt to take a look though

Bad knees. Not sure he makes the 53 man squad even if we sign him now.

D Moore has some game & is relatively young.

Side note - >> old wiley vet Anquan Boldin is still out there. I can see why he wanted out of 49er land (?'s at QB & Chip Kelly).
Even at 35, he had over 1,000 yards & 5 td's. His hands are still elite.

I'd call him.

All these WR tryouts and kinda starting to make me wonder if they are not happy with the 4 they have. All the UDFA's should of had at least one make the team.

Just updating the list. OTA's are right around the corner and injuries happen.

I'm kind of excited about our WRs this year. A little competition never hurts though.

Possible insurance for injury. Nothing more.

I want Boldin because is a run-blocking beast.

BOLDIN.

This is what you have from last season - Cooks, Snead, Coleman...

Coleman's size is intriguing, but he won't get separation with honest coverage; and then, there's the questionable hands...

Cooks is always going to be a home run threat and will get his by season's end, but his size is a liability on third down and red zone conversions...

Wille Snead is a young complementary possession receiver who we were fortunate to land as a free agent...

That's it, that's all you got as far as wide receivers...

So you got questionable hands, an all or none home run hitter, and a good underneath route runner...

Brees and the Saints offense will not be elite without Marques Colston keeping defenses honest...

Always liked Moore but Hicks if he has anything left really intrigues me but all of these receivers we're looking at will be a piece to the puzzle not the final piece for sure. all are 6' or 6'1 so not big threats and it's looks like all of them aren't that fast either.

I would love Boldin for a one year contract.

During his one season here in Indy, he was MIA!

Maybe as a late season addition...

The offense will be 'elite' as long as Brees has an o-line that can keep him upright and a running game in the 20s...

Cooks, Thomas, Snead, Coleman and one of the speedster rookies is five. There are some good looking rookies coming to camp this year. Do we really have room for another receiver on the roster? I'd hate to move on from a promising young talent.

I've asked for WR help what, three years now?

Nearly as long as I've cried for a speedy edge rusher...

Anyway, BOLDIN is exactly what we're missing.

I'm eager to see Thomas in action but IMO he tops out at a #2 WR (at best)

Yall don't forget about Fleener. He will be a WR/TE for us. I do agree Boldin would be an awesome addition.

As long as you have Brees he as proven is all you really need it 3 black WR who can catch the ball and we will be fine. :bs:

You have asked for WRs for 3 years now, and each year we have had one of the top offenses in the NFL... So essentially that negates the need for your suggestion, as in, we don't need another WR.

How does that negate it? We've all seen Colston's age getting up on him and said we needed to start finding an "X" receiver to learn from him...

And I've posted this before, No. 1 offense in yards, not in points, and the lack of converting red zone opportunities are why we're not competing in the playoffs...

I understand where your coming from but I think it's more "the defense giving up 30-35 points per game" as the reason we don't make the playoffs.

Hey, have no delusions about the defensive failures; I'm just in agreement with '76 that our strength is the offense and what made us contenders was coming away with seven and not three or worse...

It's great that Drew gets all this press about leading the No.1 offense, but we're not converting for touchdowns as when Colston was younger, who later was soldiering through problematic arthritis...

And as a result, we're coming up short on the scoreboard more often...

^^ This can't be emphasized enough.

If you're going after Boldin you just as well bring Colston back. Colston is 3 years younger and had comparable stats.

Bud,
Disagree on that one. Stats are not the only story here. Colston has definitely lost a step or two over the last couple of seasons & has battling nagging injuries.

Boldin however hasn't truly lost a step as most would first point out. Technique, consistency, aggression is his game. Again at age 34, 35 the hands are ELITE possession receiver hands. Pick your poison... 9 route (go route) or 7 yard slant, chances are AB is going to catch the ball. If you are a stats guy, Boldin has had TWO drops in 2015 (let that sink in) which is a ridiculous low drop rate percentage. The dude is still crafty in the middle of the field. Competes on every play and from what I have read, strong locker room presence.

Colston is one of my all time favorite Saints, but he isn't productive as Boldin is at this point of his career.

It's actually our defense that has given us the most success.

2009 best turnover D in the league= 13-3 and the SB
2010 top 5 D in the league= 11-5
2011 top 5 D until Greer got hurt= 13-3
2013 top 5 D= 11-5

The defense is not going to hold if Brees keeps having three and outs starting out. I know you want the defense to help Drew but I want to see Brees put together more long drives like he used to. GB did not have a good defense two years ago, but what do they do run up the score to force the opposition into committing turnovers. That's not what we have shown recently.

And I will say it again, if the saints play the packers in the playoffs, Brees will have to put up points!

You're hiding behind one statistic.

But in your heart you know we are still missing a true #1 wideout.
