We should sign Brian Hartline! That is rock solid WR. Browns are stupid!

I like it because we have no experience with our top four

I don't like it because if we wanted a vet rent-a-player we should have signed Boldin

If I am not mistaken, if you sign a veteran player before June 1st his acquisition is factored into the compensatory pick calculations. Boldin is one of those players that would count quite a bit in that calculation, while Vincent Brown shouldn't have any affect whatsoever.

Depends on the amount that player signs for...

and since we usually cut guys, not "lose" them to FA, it is usually a wash for us. In other words, we won't get anything if Evans or Colston sign elsewhere

and wasn't Boldin cut? if so, he wouldn't count against us

Hopefully he's healthy again.

"Brown is long with enough speed to stretch the field. Shows good burst in and out of breaks allowing him to get open in man coverage. Well prepared kind that finds holes in zone. Fearless on crossing routes and puts his body on the line to make plays. Willing blocker that seeks out contact."

It appears the 49ers are simply moving on w/ Torrey Smith & Co. I think Boldin has several options available however he may "wait" it out. Maybe skip the upcoming OTA's & possibly land around Training Camp time OR sign with a team that loses a WR to a serious injury (unfortunately it will happen to a team) , subsequently looking to Anquan for assistance at the position.

he won't make the team. The dude has played in 8 games the last two seasons and has 13 catches...Boldin would be interesting and if for nothign else then his vet leadership and helping the young guys

Our current WR coach John Morton did work with Boldin out in San Fran.

Shouldn't that count for something :p ?

Nope. Boldin is a FA.
