So really, we won't improve our running game?

I mean with the guard situation and all looking to have the same players with Peat at RG, there will be no left side for a RB to run. I guess that means we will need to throw the ball again next year. Hopefully SP doesn't hold back the passing plays in the first half again.

Huh? We have no idea who will be the starting left guard, assuming Peat keeps his starting job on the right side...

You dont pay a top 3 QB $20ml a year to hand the ball off 30+ times a game. I didnt see much ladt year but hasn't Ingram been running well the last few years

and I hope he does again because I have him on one of my fantasy teams. I think with Spiller healthy it will take a lot of pressure off the run and passing games.

Are you serious? Ingram has been on the door step of 1000 yards the past 2 seasons and only missed it due injuries, how has he not been running well?

1200 all purpose yards last season, 750 rushing, missed final 5 games due to injury so he would have easily got 1000 yards.

I believe that's exactly what lee909 was pointing out: that Ingram has been really effective the last 2 years.

As for the OP, asking the question is a setup for disappointment. Sean Payton's Saints do not consistently run the ball. Sean Payton's Saints have never consistently run the ball. The 2016 Saints will not consistently run the ball. Anything else is wishful thinking.

The best one can hope for, and I believe we have seen with Ingram the last couple of years, is that the Saints effectively run the ball

True.
And if we ran the ball 35 times per game with Drew Brees as our QB the masses would be screaming their bloody heads off to throw the damn ball.

The key to dominance on offense is to, as you said, run the ball effectively.

Run Ingram run. Hightower might get a chunk this season too. Still don't know what Spillers is capable of yet but I do know what Cadet adds and to me thats not much. I really didn't mind that late pick at all, it could really pay off down the stretch.

CJ was missing that "giddy up" from a year ago however if he is anything close to 100% healthy coming into 2016 ... dangerous.

... check out a blast from the past. I'd say Mark has progressed nicely.

Peat will be improved. Hopefully both Lelito and (Kelemete)Calamity will be better. Cadet scares the Hell out of me. Watch Lasco carefully.......he's a huge part of the future running game.

Let's watch a few snaps first before we say anything like that. At least wait for training camp to see what plan they have installed

The other thing though is limited touches. Spiller has been at his best when he gets his. It gets him hurt but he gets his.

WE should just sign a bunch of players who are totally awesome but very injury prone and give them lots of money and just save them for the post season.......
