Not after years away, I wouldn't have minded keeping him but he's 3 years older now and was starting to show his age when he let him go.

Can't be any worse than the always injured Tebucky Jones 2.0 (Byrd for those slow people).

Yeah, I'm going to say no.

What does that tweet even mean?! Don't be surprised if the Saints think about maybe looking into signing Roman Harper if we need depth? You mean along with 31 other teams who probably have his name on the short list in case of injuries?

I'm intrigued.

At least for camp.

Only if he changes his name to Byzantine Harper. Okay, sorry, history joke.

To coach?

I can see this happening. Could be a situation where the Saints would give up on Byrd but still want that veteran presence, Harper would make sense for one year at veteran minimum. We know if Byrd is moved it would be a substantial cap hit, on those grounds it makes some sense to sign Harper.

Hmmm... an older, slower version of the Roman Harper we had before. Not appealing.

The notion of a "veteran presence" makes me cringe as of late (see former player #39). On the surface it sounds good but without production on the field it's not getting us very far. Harp is probably a good dude & solid "locker room guy " but we need someone young with talent to step up to the plate.

There is a reason Carolina let him walk.

This smells like agent and player calling in favors with media...

I'm not convinced he'd even make the team. We have some promising young guys who also excel on special teams.
It may be time for Harper to beging his life after football as either a broadcaster or coach (his dad was a coach).

Thanks #41

Whose roster spot is he taking? I love what he's done for us but we've already moved on.
