I voted Brees but its close between him, Jackson and Roaf. It is hard to compare greatness between guys playing such different positions.

S Tommy Myers
DT La'Roi Glover
LB Vaughan Johnson
DL Derland Moore

and OT Stan Brock deserves honorable mention.

Yep, I was a young lad when Rickey played, but for those that don't remember he was absolutely on par with Lawrence Taylor in every facet of the game.

If he had played on a winner or a big market team he'd be in the conversation as one of the best players in NFL history regardless of position.

Not bashing you JP because you're one of the old timers like me and I'm sure you'd agree... the Von Miller comparison is almost insulting because Rickey Jackson was better than Von Miller's best, and was so for almost an entire decade.

but by virtually any measure Brees is by far the best player to have ever played for the Saints!!

Best Ever Offense - Drew Brees
Best Ever Defense - Rickey Jackson

But like all best ever discussions the era has to be taken into consideration. New rules favor offense now.

Would Brees be as good if he played in the 70's?

Would a 24 year old Archie be phenominal if he'd played in todays NFL for 10 years under Sean Payton?
