Deuce McAllister is the new Saints color analyst on WWL
 

WWL and the Saints today announced that Deuce McAllister is joining the Saints broadcast team.

The all time leading Saints rusher and Saints Hall of Fame inductee will be the color analyst for Saints game radio broadcasts beginning this season.

McAllister joins WWL play by play announcer Jim Henderson on WWL's Saints Radio Network.

He takes over as color analyst following the death of Hokie Gajan, who served as the color analyst for the past 15 years.

McAllister filled in for Gajan last season as Gajan battled cancer.

"Hokie and the Saints are synonymous, to be given the opportunity to follow someone so entrenched in the history and tradition of Saints football, I'm grateful," McAllister said. "If you can't play the game, what's more exciting than calling a game? Everybody loves Saints football, and everybody listens to WWL...it's a win-win situation!"

Henderson said, "There are very few people that I could foresee succeeding Hokie Gajan, but Deuce McAllister is at the top of a very select list. I look forward to a long and prosperous association with Deuce, just as I enjoyed with Hokie since the year 2000, the year of the Saints first playoff victory."

I like keeping it in house. I remember being pissed that we drafted him when we still had Ricky. I had to eat my words.

I'm glad to see Deuce at WWL but after waiting for the big news all day yesterday it was kind of a let down when the announcement was made. Expected Drew to be signed or something like that!
