Saints Sign DE Darryl Tapp

A little extra veteran competition at DE.

Can't see it being anymore than a camp body. Only 27.5 sacks in a 10 year career. 15.5 of those sacks came in his first 3 years.

By all accounts he's a really good, high character guy and let's not forget that Edebali has not actually practiced yet this offseason due to injury. We need someone other than Gwacham and Tull in the mix.

From what I understand, he's projected as depth behind Cameron Jordan on the strong-side.

Tapp, 31, will battle for a roster spot and depth role behind Cameron Jordan and Bobby Richardson. The signing won't preclude the Saints from further examining the pile of veteran pass rushers cut after the preseason.
Gwachum is a weakside end...

At this point ... possibly a DEPTH signing.

yes depth since we have an injury but sounds like he isn't much of a edge rusher this late in his career as well.

I thought Onyemata was the back up to Jordan? I thought we needed another open defensive end.
