Heard this earlier today. I would be all for it. The experience he would bring to a very young and talented recieving corps alone would be invaluable. I also think with Brees he still has plenty left in the tank and will contribute at a high level.

I hope he would be a leader to the young guys.

I heard that Payton said he was satisfied with his WR's.

Report: Saints haven’t made an offer to Anquan Boldin | ProFootballTalk

Ian Rappaport is a liar & don't believe anything reported from him. He has no Saints source.

What a tool.

Please do not sign him... need to improve the defense still.

The guy is tough as nails. But, if they went the way of a slow vet, I'd bring Colston back. Let the young guys play. Otherwise, we might not know who Snead is.

Whatever decline exists in Anquan's ability has not yet seemed to involve dropping passes. Can't say the same for Colston. Otherwise, like you, I'd love to have him back as well as a 3rd or 4th WR / mentor role similar to Hines Ward before he retired.

Colston probably has no desire to play anymore. Seems like he's perfectly content with his business ventures.

Sorry to say but Colston isn't that guy anymore... even after he was no longer the #1 wide out his hands went crappy and physically broke down. Boldin is in waaay better physical shape than Colston over he last two seasons. Circle back to last season w/an anemic Kaepernick (sp) and/or Gabbert at QB, Boldin still beat man coverage deep a few times.

Clearly he could help us in some areas that we struggled with (see Brandon Coleman) the most. A bruising, physical, strong & thick WR is something the Saints don't have at the WR roster (maybe our draft pick turns into that guy). Boldin simply answered the punch when teamed up with Flacco and Gabbert ... imagine him with Brees. We need a saavy vet WR in New Orleans.

Colston was GREAT, I mean truly GREAT but it's over.

He's still out there.

Colston is done..if I remember correctly he failed a physical. Dude's knees are shot. Colston doesn't even look like he has plans to get back into the NFL. His career is over

Who says his knees are shot? Is that an assumption? I agree his career is over but never heard anything about his knees being shot.
They are going to need to bring a veteran in at some point. Too many young guys to not have someone to look to. These guys are just getting used to NFL stardom, not to mention their role on the field.

WHY? They did just fine last season without a veteran. Why do they all of a sudden need one when they didn't need one last season? And don't say Colston because he hardly played and Colston isn't the only one who's done. So is Boldin. We don't need Boldin, Colston or anyone else. There is nothing wrong with the WRs the Saints already have on the roster. If they need someone to look to let them go to Morton, that's what he's there for.
