Tim Hightower favorite to back up Mark Ingram
 

The New Orleans Advocate confirms Tim Hightower "seems like the best bet" to open the season as Mark Ingram's primary backup.

Signed off the street just one month before Ingram's year-ending shoulder injury last season, Hightower emerged as the Saints' every-down back and was a hero in the fantasy playoffs. The Advocate's Nick Underhill says C.J. Spiller "needs to prove he can still be productive" after a lost first season in New Orleans. Underhill even suggests Spiller's roster spot may not be assured. Ingram owners searching for a handcuff should look in Hightower's direction.

I remember Payton saying a few months ago that Spiller was lookng like his old self. If that's true and he's over his injuries, we'll have the best backfield in the nfl

I agree I think we have a solid stable of RB's if all can stay healthy.

His body is a very young 30. He had 3 years off. He could produce on a high level for 4-5 more years barring major injury.

Sorry Dude but I respectfully disagree that he could produce until he was 34 or 35.

It doesn't matter about how much time he had off it's Father Time.

I am not riding this train. I do not think Tim hightower is the answer if Ingram goes down for any reason. Ditto for Marcus Murphy.

Khiry Robinson will have something to say about that. Spiller too. Hightower could get cut if Lasco or Murphy impress. I like their chances over Hightower.

Hopeful about Lasco and I don't really mind Cadet, he seems to run hard and I don't remember him losing the ball at all when he came back last year.
