Ok, I know we all expect great things from Gardner, Henderson, and Stallworth, but I was wondering what you guys think about these options:

(1) Burress? Probably too expensive to be a number two or three, but are there other reasons not too look?

(2) David Patten:
Quote:

David Patten is a legitimate threat in the vertical passing game due to his speed, quickness, and ability retains his momentum with the ball in the air. Though undersized, Patten utilizes his body well to keep a defender from the ball. His ability to find the zone and seams in coverage has enhanced his production and ability to make the big play with regularity. Patten does not posses the ability to fight for the high-ball and can be out-muscled in press coverage. He should remain a viable option as a spot receiver for a team seeking depth and a downfield threat.
(3) Tai Streets:
Quote:

Signed by Detroit as an unrestricted free-agent in 2004. Former Wolverine returns to the state after spending the previous five seasons with San Francisco. Had best season in 2002 after tallying 72 receptions for 756 yards and five TD's. Tall, physical receiver with good fluid movement and soft hands.
(4) Kevin Johnson?

Perhaps WR is just not worth addressing? What do you guys think?

What about the chances of re-signing Pathon to a cheaper contract?

Patten signed with the Skins. And IMO, we shouldn\'t address it at all unless we trade Joe. Definitely can not afford Buress. I think we are fine with Joe, Stall, Henderson, and Gardner with Lewis. Pathon could be signed back for less, but I read Atlanta had interest.

That\'s exactly the route we should go. Resign the guy if he\'s willing to come back at a lower price. If not, I think we have to find somebody somewhere. I\'m not convinced by Henderson, Gardner, D. Lewis, M. Lewis... even Stallworth. I like Nathan Black as the 3rd WR personally - but then I have an affinity for white-boy WRs.

Plax is bieng heavily pursued by the Vikes...with the loss of Moss..they really need him, and will likely pay big money to get him...

plax too much money for what he is/does

patten signed with washington

i have never seen much in streets

johnson too much money for what he is also

all just imo

what about old troy brown? super bowl winning experience to bring to the team and can helpt the defense when needed, hehe

reggie swinton detroit should be cheap too, some tools but has never put it all together.

i cannot imagine pathon\'s door being beaten down with offers. him with an appropriate salary level would be fine with me too.

PS- I WAS GONE FOR A FEW DAYS N JUST BACK. WHAT A DIFFERENCE A FEW DAYS AND APLAYER OR TWO CAN MAKE, EH? WOOO, IF THEY SIGN A LINEBACKER SOMEONE MIGHT HAVE TO CHANGE MY DEPENDS. lol

I think we\'re fine at WR, we need linebackers and defensive lineman more than anything else right now or maybe a backup QB. I mean a decent backup QB because what we have in Bouman is no more than a practice squad QB.

lol WhoDat... strangely enough, I do too. I absolutely love Drew Bennett, McCaffery, Jurvicous(however you spell it), etc... Some who would should consider in the draft is Matt Jones. I believe he could become the next Drew. 6\'6 and he runs a 4.39, what\'s not to like?

Opps... how did I forgot Stokley!

By the way, I think Streets would be a good 3rd receiver. One guy I don\'t know if you guys know of is Cedric Wilson. The guy is fast and big with some talent.

another...
if we can sign gunslingers why not former first rounder David Boston? Should be cheap...

Boston is all about muscle. He\'s bigger than most tight ends, and even if he had a chance to outrun a defensive back, he\'d probably slow up just to demonstrate that he can dole out the physical punishment. He\'s as gifted as they come, but his manic behavior and unfortunately-placed jewelry often get in the way.

It seems like since Boston left Arizona..he has just declined more and more..

He is a physical specimen...he is probably bigger than Owens..

But he just doesn\'t seem to have that spark anymore...But..I would love for him to find it again in the Black and Gold...His potential is amazing

cedric wilson is a small wr. boston would cost too much and is too much of a liability with his injuries. streets hasnt done much and is no better than what we have. we should use michael lewis more often to get mismatches with his speed. sometimes i think if he were on the rams or a team that uses wr speed to their advantage he would have a much more productive season, kinda like they used az hakim, and the way they are using mcdonald and curtis. it just seems like we draft all these receivers, such as donte and devery b/c of their speed but never actually install routes and plays to create mismatches with the speed. lewis has all the speed in the world and he may not even get into the game sometimes as wr. i know he is small but slant routes and bubble screens and deep routes and reverses would sure give us a decent chance of him breaking the long one if we would try one or two a game as oppsoed to not trying one at all, what do yall think??
