IMHO finding a way to rush the passer is the most crucial thing that the SAINTS defense needs to do to improve their chances of being relevant in the hunt for the Super Bowl. Our secondary seems on paper to improved. The additions at DT and LB should help . However if QBs are able to sit in the pocket without feeling pressure ,we are in for another disappointing season . It is that simple. 45 passing TDs is an embarrassment. Some player has to step up and DC Allen needs to manufacture a rush. Harper and Vaccaro are both capable blitzers. Heck I don't care how we do it . Get the QB .ok

I'd be willing to bring in Greg Hardy and Dwight Freeney. Especially Hardy on a prove it deal.

Hardy is exactly the type the front office have been trying to get out tbe team. Cant see that happening

I'd be extremely surprised if the Saints FO brought in Greg Hardy on any type of deal.

Here's the thing that kind of stinks. I thought it would be a really great thing that Edibali, Gwacham, Tull, etc. would get to go up against Terron Armstead in camp because Armstead's one of the best LT's in the league and it would separate the men from the boys in the weak side DE battle. Now Armstead is on the PUP list and probably won't practice much in camp. So our DE's get to beat up on who... Ryker Matthews??

Ain't if funny. All you read/hear about in the sports media are elite QB's, and Megatronesque wide receivers, and shut-down corners. In reality it's really a time function. The team best equipped to win trench warfare usually wins the game.

It all starts in the trenches. I believe the O will be good. I will give Payton credit, he loaded Allen slam up. Now we get to see how improved the D will be? I'm keeping my eyes on our 4th rounder, I didn't mind that pick at all.

My first thought was to agree with you, but then I looked in the mirror. I'll soon be 63. When I was a kid the only fantasy in football was the possibility of making it with the senior cheerleader. Playing college or pro ball was beyond fantasy. Still, I can't say I ever recall anyone who actually wanted to be a lineman. Even today, the biggest fantasy of any pro lineman is to get his hands on the ball and score. I guess that's just the way we're wired.

I firmly believe the success of this season lies 100% on our pass rush.

Everything else looks to be fairly solidified (on paper).

The 500 pound gorilla in the room is a pass rush. Yes, we have numerous players with that potential, bu they haven't done it yet.

It will all depend on them, IMO.

With Stephone Anthony at Sam LB now I can't wait to see if we blitz him in 4-3 Under looks. That 4.5 speed could wreak havoc coming off the edge!
