Re: Rough day for Drew Brees

Could it be that some of this CB & secondary success is due to more concentration on defending the pass at this point in training camp, and maybe less concentration on stopping the run that's causing Brees difficulty in finding an open receiver?
I would bet that these guys in the secondary that are fighting for positions and roster spots are playing Brees like it's 4th and 10 on every snap.

Probably, but recall in '14 against the 49ers RR's secondary couldn't even do that.

let drew keep getting the rust out, he somehow starts figuring out the defenses and get his mojo on them. but in the same time its preseason and has time to figure out what the hells going on out there?????????

Drew always has a "bad day" like this. It literally happens every year in camp. It builds confidence in the DB's, like a team-building exercise, LOL.

Not sure but I know I heard Payton say a big emphasis will be stopping the run. One reason we signed Harper. Teams averaged 4.9 yards a carry last year and Payton said it has to stop.

Not just camp. This is nothing new for Drew. He's had more than one 4 interception game, even a 5 int game against the dirty birds once. I don't know what it is, maybe after his first int. he starts putting more pressure on himself.

It's OK though, he seems to shake it off by the next game and he's still the most accurate passer in the history of the NFL.
