Really believe the problem is the pussification of the NFL by the NFLPA...
These guys need to be training year-round, in the heat and humidity where they reside, not in some high altitude luxury resort... Could go along with having training camp in Junction, Texas with conditioning drills run by Marine or Airborne PT instructors... You can't play a sport like football and go to a spa afterwords for recovery... |

But if you're going to apply the scientific method, we had Saints as big and fast thirty years ago as today's Saints, but Mora's Saints were alot tougher... Jim Mora may have been an idiot when it came to game planning, game management, putting all the stress on that terrific defense; but his Saints were a tough, mean lot... Opposing teams were physically whooped after a 3+ hour engagement with the Saints... And as you suggested, it is the conditioning... |
