Davison takes over as starter at NT

Well deserved. I had high hopes for him when we drafted him. Nice to see one finally pan out.

Good for Tyeler. Coach Payton has mentioned his name just about every day in camp & it has carried over into the first pre season game. Thought he was impressive vs the Pats last week. I think Dennis Allen is true to his word when he says he will put the best 11 players on the field.

Add in Cam, Nick Fairley, Rankins, Edebali & Jenkins (rotation). That's a formidable defensive front right there.

Mitch - hit me one time with one of those YouTube highlight thingy majigies on Davison!

Last couple of drafts have been pretty solid.
Got some good rookies hanging around nowadays.

Any sign of real depth on the d-line is a good thing.

And people were worried about us bringing in Jeff Ireland.

The last two drafts have easily been better than any we've had in the past 4-5 years.

Davison looked good and stout up front. Pats seemed to pick on our first round pick more than attacking Davison. beating up on a rookie is expected

You know how hard it is to find highlights of Tyeler Davison? Total under the radar player... Offenses and enemy fans won't know what hit 'em :bng:

Not all.

It takes a few years for players to develop. Its why they always say wait 3 years before evaluating a draft class.

Its no surprise that a mid round pick from last year is improving.

I have very high hopes for Davison. Possible camp beast.

I don't think we took three minutes...

And from what we heard earlier in camp, it wasn't that Jenkins was playing bad, it was that Davison was flat dominating.

From early reports Jenkins was doing just fine until he got hurt.

We may have some serious depth at DT. Hadn't heard that in quite a while.

I think everything starts up front - even the DB coverage.
We have suffered greatly from not being able to stop the run...
or rush the passer...or cover the middle of the field...
IMO because we couldn't get it done up front.
Up til now, runners didn't have to bounce it outside.
They could actually run between the tackles for 5-8.
2nd and 3 is so much harder to defend than 2nd and 9.
I saw guys getting after the ball Friday night that actually had speed to the ball.
Man! that was refreshing.
If we are successful clogging the middle and force teams into 2nd/3rd and long,
then we have the advantage and the opportunity for our guys to make plays.
I saw several missed opportunities for turnovers that I'm hoping materialize going forward.
Now we just have to figure out how to stay disciplined against the cut-back.
