Saints want to return to Greenbrier
1 Attachment(s)
If Sean Payton has his druthers, the New Orleans Saints will return to The Greenbrier for future training camps.
The Saints head coach and players delivered ringing endorsements of the camp set-up after Wednesday's practice, the final one at the resort complex. The Saints were scheduled to travel to Houston on Wednesday night to begin two days of intra-squad workouts against the Houston Texans. The team will return to its Metairie training complex on Monday after their exhibition game Saturday night against the Texans at NRG Stadium. The Saints' original three-year contract with the Greenbrier ended after this season. Neither side has said if negotiations for a new contract have been discussed. http://image.nola.com/home/nola-medi...318-mmmain.jpg "(The Greenbrier) has been outstanding, yes," Payton said when asked if he would like to return to West Virginia for future camps. "It gives you a real secluded environment for a period ... and all you're looking for from a teaching standpoint. read more |

Re: Saints want to return to Greenbrier
We had this debate last year around this time but I simply don't think GB has anything to do with a win or loss on Sunday. The Patriots train in Massachusetts, Pitt in PA, Denver in CO and so on and so forth.
If Greenbrier is affecting player performance, then that's probably a coaching issue more than a location issue. That's just me. |

Re: Saints want to return to Greenbrier
well who wouldn't want to stay at 5 star resort if somebody else is footing the bill, i'm not falling for the soft play becuse of that, i did make jokes about it but its just kiddin round. we're young again and i'm stickin to that reason we've been atrocious on defensive side of ball, we put a rookie 3 years ago to save an aging def. that had a sack leader, jr. galette,in sacking air on other side that had mental problems of 30 million characters i'd say. we will come around starting this year. but we need some luck in staying healthy.

Come back home for training camp.

Re: Saints want to return to Greenbrier
I'd be able to go to more practices if they stayed home. I will be there Monday.

Re: Saints want to return to Greenbrier
I hope they keep going to the GB for purely selfish reasons. Being under 4 hours away has made it a great family road trip to see our favorite team.
If we weren't a dome team I'd be concerned about the heat climatization aspect of the camp but we play in a climate controlled arena. |
Re: Saints want to return to Greenbrier
Where we were in 2009. Thats where they should be.

Re: Saints want to return to Greenbrier
Well I want a winning season and thus far Greenbrier hasn't produced a winning season yet.
