Game Day - PreSeason Week 3: New Orleans Saints vs Pittsburgh Steelers

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; This org needs to start drafting for need instead of BPA. Especially when the Oline is that bad. You are seeing it is much easier to fix an offense than it is a defense. But this team is going backwards ...

That starts with Payton.

I don't feel like he really has a vision for what this team should be and it's showing.

In 09, very first preseason game we came out making sure everyone knew we would get our hands on the ball regardless of what they did and forced mistakes.
Not to mention our offense emphasized the run game.

I just don't see a vision what our team is supposed to be, our O line can't run block, Brees is going to get killed behind it.

One more thing, I like PJ Williams but come on man, turn your head and look for the ball!!!!!
Thats two games in a row he's been beaten for big gains or a TD and hasn't turned to locate the ball.

Your bonehead creator picked a fine chapter to omit from your memory bank....let me ask you, does a machine like yourself ever experience fear? - Vegeta, DBZ

That was Devante Harris who got beat by AB

I didn't mean the TD, PJ got beat by Marcus Wheaton for a 31 yard pass and never tried to locate the ball.

Rookie mistake, but PJ Williams will get better; Aaron Glenn will make sure of it...

Great thing is, it was preseason, it didn't costs us a "W".

Season hasn't begun, so don't consider a bad preseason performance a "slam dunk" that we're going to be in the "lottery" of a top ten pick...

But there's some work to be done along the offensive line...

I hope your right, I just remember myself thinking someone like Corey White or Patrick Robinson would eventually learn to locate the ball and it never happened.

Agreed. PJ is essentially a rookie (injury redshirt in 2015) but will improve as the season progresses. Give him game experience. Until we get a solid "push" up the middle, expect corners and LB's to be exposed however ELLERBE is a stud.

Was it just me or does James Laurinitus (sp) appear SLOW?

Well hopefully it's a 16+ games season for us and Ellerbe has a long way to go...

Stupar looks every bit as good in coverage...

James Laurinaitis looks to be a stop-gap until we draft a better talent, though Craig Robertson has more physical talent, think the Coaching Staff wants a take-charge field marshal for the defense which Laurinaitis does well...

Would have like Nick Vigil in the third round...

While I wouldn't give up on Grayson just yet, I'd agree that Ryan Griffin looked helluva lot better than this...

Would've love to have a candid, off-the-record conversation with Coach Payton to know why we abandoned Ryan Griffin...

Can't help but wonder if that bar incident where Griffin got his head busted open with a bottle it had something to do with his departure...
