So who do we want to win the south this year?

TB is too hyped but there is no one in this division we want to win however take the team with less blood on their hands and is guaranteed a first round exit in the bucs.

Atlanta won the division last time between us, they can't win it again before us.

Carolina has won three straight years but they have too much playoff experience now.

Because let's face it, it's not going to be us unless the the teams on our schedule are overrated.

the Saints will be fine. The defense will be fine. They are getting a division or wildcard this year..and the Panthers wont be involved.

Youll change your mind in a week

This team is in trouble. I don't see "fine".

Think a lot of saints fans are living in fantasy land. I was one of them. Maybe I am wrong but I think by mid-season we are going to be sitting on our couches wondering how we can keep supporting an organization that is living in denial and an emanate collapse is looming.

Re: So who do we want to win the south this year?

Well if saints end up starting off bad then season is in trouble. So who do we root for to take the division?

Here's TB's likely outcomes
@Atl-L
@Ari-L
LA-L
Den-W
@Car-L
@SF-?
Oak-L
Atl-W
Chi-L
@KC-L
Sea-L
@SD-?
NO-L
@Dal-L(unless Romo is healthy maybe Dak)
@NO-W(if we have problems)
Car-L

There are only two games on TB's schedule you can pencil for sure wins and there's two others that could go either way. Don't see them winning it.

Now Atlanta
TB-W
@Oak-L
@NO-L
Car-?
@Den-W
@Sea-L
SD-W
GB-L
@TB-L
@Phi-W
Ari-?
KC-L
@LA-L
SF-?
@Car-L
NO-?

Now there's four wins you can pencil in and four that could go either way. Two of them when it should be obvious what will be the outcome. I expect the games against Carolina and Arizona(and they have to win both) determines what happens those two. If they're 8 losses or more they won't beat SF. And if they lose to Carolina they will beat us(the 3-3, 1-5, 5-1 division pattern). Still 8-8 at best.

Now Carolina
@Den-W
SF-W
Min-?
@Atl-?
TB-W
@NO-?
Ari-W
@LA-?
KC-W
NO-W
@Oak-?
@Sea-L
SD-W
@Was-L
Atl-W
@TB-W

They are already at more than enough wins of those three without the toss-ups. Now add in those tossups and they could probably split 3-2 or 2-3 and that's 11-12 wins. I think they lose to LA but beat Oakland. Atlanta, Minnesota, and us are the harder ones.

Now us, assuming we play like the way we just did going in season
Oak-L
@NYG-L
Atl-W
@SD-W
Car-?
@KC-W(their offense is not that great, we'll steal one here)
Sea-L
@SF-?
Den-W
@Car-L
LA-W
Det-W
@TB-W
@Ari-L
TB-L
@Atl-?

That's 7 wins without the toss-ups. Do we lose all three games against Carolina, SF, and Atl? Either way we would need Carolina to lose more than 3 of their toss-ups to help us? If we get oline help before that game we could beat Seattle.

Odds are Carolina will win division again but we should be lucky we have some bad offenses on the schedule.

Not only do I want the Saints to win it, but I'm confident we will.

We were 7-9 with the worst defense on the planet last year. We improved talent at nearly every position.

Yes we're extremely young and inexperienced, but I think we'll put it together and fight a very tough battle for the NFCS championship.

Saints 10-6 with the tie-breaker over 10-6 Carolina. Atlanta and Tampa at 8-8.

C'mon now. first of all it was 42 years of losing, not 50, but I know what you're getting at. However, the idea that because it used to be bad we should accept another 4 plus decades of losing before we show any signs of disappointment, seems extreme. We are fans, because we like to watch football. It's a lot more exciting when you are winning. Do you think that people weren't complaining for all (other than the few years where they actually made the playoffs) of those preceding 42 years?

That's been the most over used, and illogical statement since we won the superbowl, in my opinion. That we have no right to have a dissenting opinion after that. And the notion that because Saints fans endured all those bad years, that they are somehow a separate race of people, who never complained, and we should all feel lucky that we weren't them... We WERE them, we ARE them. Nobody likes losing.

If you're cool with it, I could just as easily accuse you of being a football pacifist. I could question how much you care, if you are satisfied to settle for one great year.

But I'm just going to let you think what you want, instead, and simply disagree. I will never forget that Superbowl. But that game wasn't the birth of my child. It's meaning doesn't carry over from year to year. It's a happy memory, but it was a game. We watch for entertainment, and I don't know who is entertained by losing. I'm not as down on this team as some may be, I'm somewhat optimistic (though probably more so for next year, depending on the QB situation) but I certainly have my dissenting thoughts and don't feel the need to apologize for them.

So what will our record be the first four weeks? This team has showed they have to start out above .500 to make the playoffs. What makes you think this year is a first? Defense is not gonna be enough if Drew and the oline keeps giving the ball back to the opposing offense. The saints defense isn't exactly a squadron in war. They are going to tire out after a half if they keep being put back on the field. I don't trust that Drew is bigger than a bad oline. Wanna know how I know that. Falcons week 16 2014.

Re: So who do we want to win the south this year?

The bright spot is Latavius Murray can't even do enough behind that improved oline and raiders can't stop the run so far. Lock down Crabtree, tackle Murray and run Ingram.
