Barnes, 34, offers two attributes in spades — experience and versatility. In 11 seasons, Barnes has appeared in more than 150 games (117 starts) with the Jaguars and Raiders. Moreover, Barnes is able to play both inside and out, so he could act as a backup at up to four offensive line spots. He lost his starting job in Oakland last season, but still appeared in 14 games, and could serve as depth in New Orleans.

Barnes wasn’t the only acquisition for the Saints today, as the club also sent a conditional seventh-round pick to the Dolphins in exchange for DE/LB Chris McCain

I don't have a problem with this...but I seriously think they need to get someone thats more than backup material right now. Like....try to get someone that can come in and start...or maybe someone that can IDK...block. This guy seems like he's been around a while. That's good and all, but I think he just replaces Lemon as a backup.

I really don't get it now. He seems like the type of guy that wouldn't even make other teams rosters. If you are going to give away a draft pick do it on a player that is proven for a 3-5 depending on your needs. I would happily spend a third round pick on a good guard that has upside.

Who? And is their team willing to trade them? It's called supply and demand; it's going to take a hell of a lot more than a third to get a good guard at this point

At this point if Ronald Leary could be got for a 4th id do it. He was a starter for two years at Dallas and it was only hos injury that gave Collins the chance to get past him at. He is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana so bring him home. That cowboys line was special. He will need s new deal next year though

Wow. This just sounds desperate. We grab the first guy to hit the streets on the first day of roster cuts? I guess we can't wait until cuts to 53 where the talent might be a little better.
